Meet and Greet: September Events

September 19, 2026, 10am to 7pm: Opelousas Lions Club Presents "Spaghetti Cook Off" at Yambilee AG Arena, Opelousas, LA. We will have a Voter Registration and Meet and Greet Booth at this event.
September 22 and 23, 2026, 6 to 9pm: The St. Landry Federation of Democratic Women will be hosting a Meet and Greet the Democratic candidates at the Opelousas Yambilee Building. Refreshments will be served.
September 22nd: Meet the 27th Judicial District Court Judge, City /Town Mayors, Chief of Police, and Marshal candidates.
September 23rd: Meet the U.S. Senator, SLP School Board Members, City/Town Council Members, Alderman, and all others.

Opelousas Candidate Forum: October 8, 2026

Join us on October 8, 2026, at 6pm for the Opelousas Candidate Forum, hosted by DPEC. Hear directly from the Mayor, Chief, and Marshal candidates at The Delta Grand, 120 S. Market St., Opelousas, LA. This is a crucial opportunity to hear our plans for Opelousas.

Important Dates for St. Landry Parish Election

Your vote is your voice. Mark these critical dates on your calendar to ensure you participate in the upcoming election.
Deadline to register to vote (in person, by mail, or at OMV Office): October 5, 2026.
Deadline to register to vote (through GeauxVote Online Registration System): October 13, 2026.
Early Voting: October 20-27, 2026 (excluding Sunday, October 25) from 8:30am to 6pm.
Deadline to request an absentee ballot: October 30 by 4:30 pm (other than military and overseas voters).
Election Day: November 3, 2026. Polls open from 6am to 8pm.
